FQ Winner & a Bug Welcome Back

Mr. Cowboy thought I was being silly about not getting to sew until I mentioned what if he was kept from all his farm stuff....hehehe!
He, then was very happy to quiet me down by drawing a FQ winner.
Regina, he drew your name! Congratulations girl!!! Just email me your mailing addy, your favorite color & I'll get your FQ in the mail.
This was so much fun so I'll be giving away more FQs with each post about machine feet.
So here's the next foot that's another favorite.
It's my Open-toed foot that I've used in many of the mini quilts that I stitch around the raw edges. You can see why it's named Open-toe. I shift my needle all the over to the right & decrease the stitch length to achieve the close stitching.
Leave a comment to be counted for the next FQ give away!!

I want your help in welcoming back to blogging my wacky girlfriend Molly.  When you've got a moment, pop over to her blog and sit a spell!!

One specialty foot that I like is the Creative Feet "Pearls and Piping" foot. It is great for couching fibers or trim.

I love this foot, too, and I use it a lot of times on things other than applique.
I really like the picture of the calves. There is a pasture across the road from our house. There are sooo many new babies in there. I like watching them play. They are just like children playing together.

I completed a one hundred block sampler quilt this winter and about 1/3 of the blocks were machine appliqué, that open toe foot became one of my best friends!

You should round up the Wackies and come to the Mesquite Quilt Show June 23rd and 24th

I don't change the feet on my machine that often. Enjoy doing handwork so all applique is done that way. My zipper foot get used once in a while and my walking foot then takes over.

I love the open toe foot@ I like to be able to see what I'm stitching especially when doing applique by sewing machine.

I use my open toe foot when I do topstitching, I feel my old eyes can see better.

I guess I could say that my Open Toe foot is my second go to foot. I like to be able to see where the needle is going. But I am interested in reading more posts about the feet you use and why. I have a lot of feet I have never used. I use the tool vs. sewing examples with Terry too. Sometimes you have to come down to their level, lol.

Now THAT foot I have and use most of the time. Mine has shorter points on it for my Viking, though. Old Viking - mid-90s, wouldn't trade it for anything.

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
